Summit's elevation gives it weather that's a little different from the rest of Union County. It's higher, more exposed to wind, and gets slightly more snow than Westfield or Cranford ten miles south. Roofs here see more weather events per year, and the ones that last are the ones that were detailed properly at the flashings and edges.

Architecturally, Summit is a mix. The hill section near Wallace Road has heavy Tudor and Colonial Revival housing — slate, cedar, multiple roof planes, lots of dormer flashing. The flatter sections toward New Providence are more mid-century. Each requires a different approach, and we work on both.
